the circus is coming the circus is coming. Tickets are purchased and our little girl, we shall call her Punkin, will get her first taste of lions and tigers and bears, oh my. It was a debate in our heads between circus tickets or Disney on Ice and I am a bit unsure of the choice. The circus looks like fun and our thought was that if she needed to move that would be a better venue for a wiggly toddler but she seems entrance by the Disney in Ice commercials. How old were you when you saw your first Disney on Ice? How old are most kids? No one wants to pay 40 or more each for a decent seat so the little one can get fussy 20 minutes in and miss the rest.
I hate that awkward, "excuse me, pardon me" dance that everyone with a little inevitably kid has to do at some point. Even those without children know that dance because they have at some point been a participant in it. We experienced it the other week at church. Sitting in our pew on the outside, an older couple comes up and asks us to squeeze in so they could sit on the end. Of course at the most inopportune time, during the quiet portion of the communion, as he is blessing bread and wine, punkin became fussy and had to be taken out. What once was an easy access route for me to get her directly in the aisle and out the door became a tricky dance over a purse and two very kind elderly people who couldn't quite get their knees out of the way to accommodate the exit of me and a squirming loud little one. My hopes of a quick exit were dashed as all eyes left the holy bread and instead transfixed on me and the less than holy sounds of a cranky little girl who was not pleased with being hugged tightly and escorted out....but we digress
Back to the real purpose of this blog, how young is too young for Disney and did we go with the right choice on the circus??? I suppose we wont know until we go and see what she thinks...if she loves or fears the elephants and if all the plastic animals on the floor are amazing when live and in person or if in fact, she would rather see a live and in person Cinderella swirling across the ice with her prince charming. Ah well, Disney will come again...and again,,,and again, and so will the circus for that matter, and by next year...or even next month, she wont tell me how scared she was from seeing one over the other, the only person who will worry about that in this household will be her mother.
In other news related to the circus, most towns it is in...The Ringling brothers circus that is... are doing half off tickets for opening night so if you want your child to go but don't want to foot the heavy bill, keep your eyes on your tv or just call your box office to get that deal. I suggest going to the box office in person if you can, ticket master charges a LOT of money, we actually paid less at the box office for an upgraded seat than what we would have paid for a regular seat through ticketmaster with all of their fees. Not a rant, just a heads up to all people who want to save 20 bucks or more :) Now if only I could find a super amazing deal on Disney tickets to try that one out....lol
Take it easy all.
